If you want to fully understand Matsu's culture, the Folk Cultural Artifacts Exhibition Hall is the place to go!
The Matsu Folk Cultural Artifacts Exhibition Hall, newly renovated in 2002, has one floor below ground and four floors above. Its typical Eastern Fujian house characteristics, the wine jars, small windows and “beauties chair”, display the elegance of Eastern Fujian architecture to the full. Different themes are covered on different floors of the museum, with historical origins, terrain and landforms, the lives of the residents, language, culture, and traditional architecture are all introduced in rich detail.
A number of archaeological discoveries have been made in the Matsu in recent years, and the first floor of the museum has a display area where the recovered relics can be seen.
