The 23rd day of the third lunar month marks the most important occasion for Mazu believers worldwide. This year, the Matsu National Scenic Area Administration joins hands once again with Matsu Tianhou Temple to present the “Mazu in Matsu” celebration series—featuring solemn rituals and vibrant festivities.

We warmly invite locals and visitors to Nangan’s Matsu Tianhou Temple to experience this spiritual celebration, join the ceremonial processions, and pray for peace and prosperity.

🏮 Event Schedule
May 7 (Thu) 13:00 | Purification Procession
Led by Baozhanggong, parade groups set out to cleanse the area, symbolizing the removal of evil and the beginning of the celebration.
May 8 (Fri) 19:00 | Blessing Parade
Join the nighttime procession following the deity’s palanquin, sharing faith and blessings across the island.
May 9 (Sat) 10:00 | Grand Birthday Ceremony
A traditional ritual celebrating Mazu’s birthday. Visitors are welcome to participate in incense offerings and prayers.
