Juguang from the Sea

The "Juguang from the Sea" tour will launch in mid-June, offering a limited-time seabird-watching experience. Tickets are priced at only NT$300 per person, allowing visitors to cruise around either Dongju Island or Xiju Island and enjoy panoramic views of the islands’ scenic coastlines and dramatic marine erosion landscapes from the sea.

Taking place during the peak tern-watching season, the tour offers a rare opportunity to admire the unique combination of granite cliffs and historic military sites. It is an unforgettable experience for birdwatchers, nature enthusiasts, and families traveling with children.

The waters surrounding the Matsu Islands have been designated as a Tern Conservation Area, providing habitat for more than 30 bird species, with terns being the most spectacular. While sailing through the waters of Juguang, visitors may spot rare species such as the Bridled Tern, Greater Crested Tern, and Roseate Tern soaring above the blue sea and sky.

Among them, the most remarkable is the Chinese Crested Tern, often referred to as the "Mythical Bird." Once thought to be extinct, its reappearance attracted worldwide attention from the international birdwatching community.

Beginning in June, travelers wishing to extend their seabird-watching adventure can also arrange additional activities such as recreational fishing or stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) through local tour operators, allowing for a deeper exploration of the natural beauty and marine charm of Juguang.

Dongyin from the Sea

Launching in April, "Dongyin from the Sea" invites travelers to set sail across the vast waters surrounding Dongyin Island and circle the island by boat, offering the most spectacular vantage point from which to appreciate the natural beauty and cultural heritage of this maritime fortress.

Along the coastline, visitors can admire remarkable geological formations such as Sleeping Crocodile Rock, sea arches, sea caves, and the famous "Monk Reading Scriptures" rock formation, which resembles a meditating monk. Each landmark is a masterpiece sculpted by nature over countless years.

Throughout the journey, professional onboard guides provide insightful commentary, introducing Dongyin’s geological features, strategic military significance, and rich ecological resources. Beyond the breathtaking scenery, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the island's unique history and environment.

Mabi Bay Weekend Market Concert

The Mabi Bay Weekend Market Concert will make its grand debut on July 24, bringing together live music, a vibrant market, and family-friendly activities to create a refreshing yet energetic summer celebration.

The evening will begin with balloon mascots and stunt performers energizing the crowd, followed by performances from guzheng musician Xixi and recording artist Alan Kuo, filling the seaside atmosphere with music and laughter.

A variety of interactive activities will also be available, including DIY art workshops using recycled marine debris and photo check-in events with special gifts. Visitors are invited to enjoy a memorable midsummer evening under the stars and experience the unique charm of Matsu.
