2026 Matsu National Scenic Area Administration Tour Guide Training Program

To enhance the professional competencies of tour guides and interpreters in Matsu, the Matsu National Scenic Area Administration (MNSA) will hold the 2026 MNSA Tour Guide Training Program from September 11 to 13, 2026. Registration is now open and will close on July 15.
 

Participation is free of charge. The program includes lunch, travel insurance, certification-hour registration with an electronic certificate, accommodation subsidies, and a certificate of completion with commemorative gifts. Individuals interested in promoting Matsu tourism and local culture, and those willing to participate in volunteer services organized by the MNSA, are encouraged to apply.

The training program consists of three major modules (8 hours each):

• Core Tour Interpretation Course
• Matsu Professional Knowledge Course
• Service Quality Enhancement Course

Course topics include interpretation principles and practical techniques, travel safety and emergency response, landscape conservation and natural ecology, Eastern Fujian history and military heritage culture, local food industries, and outdoor field-guiding exercises. Through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on field practice, participants will develop comprehensive tour interpretation skills from theoretical understanding to practical application.

The instructor team includes experts with academic, cultural, and practical tourism experience. Lecturers include Lin Shao-chieh and Liu Ying-san, who specialize in tour interpretation theory and landscape knowledge, as well as You Kuei-hsiang and Wang Chien-hua, who are deeply involved in Matsu's local culture and tourism development. Wang Yung-pao, Kuo Pao-tsai, and Lin Ai-lan will lead safety response training and outdoor practical exercises to strengthen participants' guiding and service skills.

The Core Tour Interpretation Course on September 11 and the Matsu Professional Knowledge Course on September 12 will be held in the Audio-Visual Room on the first floor of the Nangan Visitor Center (No. 95-2, Ren'ai Village, Nangan Township, Lienchiang County). The Service Quality Enhancement Course on September 13 will take place at various scenic sites in Nangan for outdoor field practice.
