Day1|Dongyin
Dongyong Aged Kaoliang Liquor is renowned across Taiwan. It is widely available in Matsu with reasonable prices and is known for its mellow flavor without the harsh throat-burning sensation. The unique climate and coastal scenery of Dongyin create an ideal environment for brewing fine liquor—beautiful landscapes paired with good wine enhance the overall experience.


Transportation
- From Keelung West Pier No.2, take the Taima Star ferry to Dongyin. Sailing time is approximately 10 hours.
- Take UNI Air to Nangan Airport, then a taxi to Fu’ao Harbor and transfer to the Taima Star ferry to Dongyin.

Travel Tips
- Dongyin is located at the northernmost end of the Matsu Islands. The colder climate creates ideal brewing conditions and has shaped the region’s bold drinking culture.
- The famous “Dongyong Aged Kaoliang,” once chosen as state banquet liquor, is produced right here in Dongyin. After enjoying the island’s magnificent coastal views, visitors may stop by the Dongyin Distillery Visitor Center to learn about the process and enjoy a tasting.

Day2|Nangan
Nangan is known as the “home of aged liquor.” Whether visiting the distillery, exploring the well-known Babu Tunnel where aged liquor is stored, or brewing your own pot of traditional Matsu rice wine, you can experience the deep cultural connection between local residents and their cherished liquor traditions.


Transportation
- From Dongyin’s Zhongzhu Harbor, take the Taima Star or Taima Ferry (approx. 2 hours) to Nangan. After arriving at Nangan Harbor, you may take a bus, taxi, or rent a scooter to reach various attractions.

- Scooter rental: approx. NT$500 per day (most attractions are within a 10-minute ride).
- Public buses are available. Fare per section: NT$15 (cash or EasyCard). Please check schedules in advance due to limited service.
Travel Tips
- The popular “Aged Liquor DIY” experience is located in Siwei Village. Visitors can brew their own liquor year-round using an improved fermentation method. Reservation required: 0836-23093.
- Jinsha Village has long been known as a major brewing center. Its well water is famed for producing excellent liquor, and some traditional brewing houses continue to operate today.
- The Babu Tunnel, located near the Matsu Distillery, stores hundreds of jars of over 15-year aged liquor. Since production has ceased and aged liquor is difficult to preserve, nearly all aged liquor sold on the market today can be considered rare collectibles.
Day3|Beigan
Beigan features a distinctive “Specialty Street,” offering visitors a wide range of famous liquors, dried seafood snacks, and local treats at fair prices. Located just 50 meters from the airport, it allows travelers to shop conveniently without carrying heavy loads for long distances.


Transportation
- From Nangan’s Fu’ao Harbor, take the inter-island ferry to Beigan’s Baisha Harbor. Transportation options include bus, taxi, or scooter rental.
- Sailing time between Nangan and Beigan is approximately 15 minutes.
- Nangan → Beigan: hourly service from 07:00–17:10.
- Beigan → Nangan: departures every half hour from 07:30–17:30.
