    Itinerary Overview

Day1| Zhongzhu Port (Dongyin) → Lienyu Yikeng (Dongyin) → Yixiantian (Dongyin) → Dongyong Lighthouse (Dongyin) → Donghai Xiongfeng
Dongyong Lighthouse is over a hundred years old, having stood in Dongyin since the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty. Its exterior was designed by British engineers, showcasing British architectural style. The pure white structure, paired with a round blue roof, set against the blue sea and sky, makes visitors feel like they have walked into a postcard-perfect scene. Yixiantian (One Thread of Sky) is a sea-eroded terrain where two rock walls stand vertically adjacent to each other, connecting to the sky above and the sea below. The sounds of waves crashing against the rocks at the bottom echo majestically between the walls like thousands of galloping horses. The four characters "Tian Feng Ling Tao" (Listening to the Waves from the Sky Rift) inscribed on the rock wall were written by Chief of the General Staff Lai Ming-tang when he visited Dongyin in 1972. Lienyu Yikeng (Chaste Woman's Cliff) consists of a sea cliff over 100 meters high and sea-eroded caves forming a canyon precipice. according to records, a woman in the late Qing Dynasty was molested by bandits and chose to jump off the cliff rather than submit. The residents of Dongyin, moved by her chastity, named the cliff Lienyu Yikeng.

Day2| Meng'ao Port → Fuzheng Beach (Dongju) → Dongju Island Lighthouse (Dongju) → Dapu Stone Inscription (Dongju) → Dapu Settlement (Dongju) → Kunqiu → Sheshan (Xiju) → Fu'ao Harbor
The Dongju Island Lighthouse, built by the British and also known as Dongju Island Lighthouse, was established in the 11th year of the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1872). In 1988, it was designated as a Second Grade Historic Site in the Taiwan-Fujian area by the Ministry of the Interior (now a National Monument). The Dapu Stone Inscription is a relic from the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty. The inscription dates back to the Ming Dynasty, making it older than the Dongju Island Lighthouse built in the late Qing Dynasty, but in 1988, it was designated as a Third Grade Historic Site in the Taiwan-Fujian area by the Ministry of the Interior (now a National Monument). [Dapu Settlement] In the Fuzhou dialect, "Pu" means a small harbor. It is a preservation area for traditional settlements in Dongju, retaining its simple ancient style. Take a ferry to the West Island (Xiju). To the left of the Xiqiu Village Joint Office Center, there is a trail leading to "Shanhai Yijia" in Qingfan Village, with an observation deck along the way, continuing to Kunqiu. There is a chain of reefs in the nearby waters. At low tide, a clean arc-shaped beach is exposed, while at high tide, only the tops of the reefs remain visible. From a distance, it looks like a giant python coiling in the sea, hence the name "Sheshan" (Snake Mountain).

Day3| Fu'ao Harbor → Niujiao Settlement (Nangan) → Jinsha Settlement (Nangan) → Iron Fort (Nangan)
Niujiao Settlement in Nangan has the reputation of being the "Jiufen of the Matsu Battlefield." Traditional Min-Dong architecture features weighted stones on the roofs. Walking through the stone-stepped alleys of Niujiao Village, the coffee shops and Yima Restaurant renovated from old houses make one forget they are in Niujiao and instead think of the "City of Sadness," Jiufen. Matsu Winery is located at the entrance of Fuxing Village, and the Tunnel 88 Kaoliang liquor it brews is famous both domestically and internationally. Jinsha, the hometown of old wine, was originally named "Jinsha" (Golden Sand) because the beach glittered under the sunlight. It became wealthy from fishing in the early years. After the ROC military retreated to Matsu, cross-strait relations were tense, and it bore the brunt of artillery fire. Coupled with the depletion of Matsu's fishing resources in the 1970s, many residents moved to Taiwan to escape the war and seek survival, which ironically preserved the original appearance of this century-old settlement. In recent years, issues of Matsu settlement preservation and reuse of idle spaces have sprouted here and have already achieved good results.

Day4| Fu'ao Harbor → Baisha Port (Beigan) → Banli Village → Qinbi Settlement (Beigan) → Qiaozai Fishing Village
Qinbi Settlement is built along the mountains and near the water, with outer walls mainly made of local granite. From a distance, it looks like a stone city on the sea. In the past, residents considered the needs of family growth, so construction was negotiated and planned in advance. As family members multiplied, architectural clusters gradually formed around a "center," creating strong blood ties, close living, and cohesive relationships, becoming a unique settlement type in the Matsu area. In the early years, most buildings used granite as stone material. Traditional houses are mostly detached two-story structures built of stacked stones, earning the reputation of a Mediterranean stone city. Qiaozai is the village with the most temples in the Matsu area, totaling eight temples, indicating the large population of the fishing village in the past. At some point, Qiaozai's glory faded, and the current population is very small, creating the strange phenomenon of "more gods than people." Most traditional buildings in Qiaozai face the sea to facilitate observation of activities on the sea surface. Currently, there is a small-scale Fishing Village Exhibition Hall in the village, displaying local fishing methods and various fishing gear from the early years.
