Nangan Fu'ao Harbor

Fuao Harbor, located on the southeastern side of Nangan, is the primary gateway for travelers arriving in Matsu and serves as its most important maritime hub, with ferries connecting to Keelung as well as routes linking Nangan to Beigan, Dongju, and Dongyin; as vessels approach the pier, visitors are greeted by hillside settlements and layered military landscapes that blend the vigor of a working harbor with Matsu’s distinctive wartime heritage, while the harbor area offers convenient access on foot to the Matsu Daily building, visitor center, and various shops, making it the ideal starting point for exploring Nangan; at night, the harbor glimmers with fishing-boat lights reflected on the water, creating a serene and captivating scene that ushers travelers into their Matsu journey.
