Dongju Meng’ao Harbor

Mengao Harbor serves as Dongju’s main maritime access point, with a nearby helipad and a convenient ten-minute walk to the lively Daping Village. Its calm waters attract plentiful fish, making it one of the safest and most popular fishing spots on the island. The harbor’s old name, “Mengao,” comes from the local word for fishing nets, reflecting its past as a place where fishermen repaired and dried their gear; today, only a few households remain in the area. Sand carried from the Min River has accumulated over time to form a wide, fine-white beach that is ideal for swimming and shoreline activities.
