This logo integrates the diverse customs and local culture of Matsu as its core design concept. Through lively and fluid lines, the overall visual composition conveys an impression of Matsu’s rich cultural heritage and tourism resources.
The initial letter “M” is inspired by the traditional fire-sealing gable walls found in Matsu’s temple architecture. Its upward-extending form symbolizes the vitality and cohesion of Matsu;
“a” – resembling the posture of migratory birds that rest in Matsu during their journey, representing the islands as a place accompanied by mythical birds;
“t” – symbolizing Matsu’s thriving vitality and its rich and diverse natural plant life;
“s” – rendered with smooth, free-flowing brush strokes, depicting the rolling waves and seascapes surrounding the Matsu archipelago;
“u” – representing the humanistic character of Matsu as it sheds its former image as a mysterious battlefield, extending a warm and welcoming embrace to visitors from all directions; finally, a rising sun is added above the “M,” symbolizing Matsu’s boundless prospects and future vision!
