Inter-island transportation in Matsu is primarily by ferry, with major ports on each island serving as transportation hubs: Fuao Port (Nangan), Baisha Port and Qiaozai Port (Beigan), Zhongzhu Port (Dongyin), Meng’ao Port (Dongju), and Qingfan Port (Xiju). Passengers can check and reserve tickets through the Matsu Maritime Transportation Online Booking System. Some short-distance routes (approximately 30 minutes or less) may not be available for online booking and require on-site purchase.
Ferry schedules vary by season and weather—additional sailings are added during the summer peak period and reduced during the winter. Sailings may be delayed or canceled due to strong winds, heavy seas, or fog. Please check the latest official announcements before departure. During holidays or summer vacations, advance reservations are strongly advised.

Nangan ⭤ Dongyin:
When there is only one flight per day, it departs Nangan at 11:00 and returns from Dongyin at 11:20. When there are two or more flights per day, departure times follow official announcements. Each flight requires at least four registered local residents to operate; if the minimum is not met, the flight will be combined with the next day’s schedule (reservation hours: 08:00–17:00).
- Service is activated when maritime transportation is suspended due to sea or weather conditions.
- Up to three flights per day operate between Nangan, Dongyin, and Juguang; a 4th (and beyond) requires approval from the Transportation and Tourism Bureau.
