The final event of the Matsu Baiming Carnival, the "Dream Seeking" ceremony, is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. on March 9th to 8 a.m. the following day at the Lung Chiao Feng Wuwei Ling Temple in the quaint village of Qinbi on Beigan Island, which is renowned as the "Mediterranean of Matsu." This unique and miraculous cultural event is specially recommended, which occurs only once a year. Those who wish to experience the miracles firsthand should seize this opportunity, as they will have to wait until next year if they miss it.

The "Dream Seeking" ceremony in Lung Chiao Feng Wuwei Ling Temple at Qinbi Village on Beigan Island serves as the grand finale of the Matsu Baiming Carnival. Visitors and locals participating in the event can visit the temple atop Lung Chiao Feng, consult the deity, and then find a comfortable spot inside the temple to sit or lie down and meditate, awaiting guidance through dreams from the divine. It is widely believed that the dream-seeking experience on the 29th day of the lunar calendar, especially for seeking offspring and career advancement, is particularly effective.

According to the committee of the Lung Chiao Feng Wuwei Ling Temple, the tradition of dream seeking at Lung Chiao Feng has a long history. Each year, on the 29th day of the lunar calendar, the deity of dream seeking, known as the Nine Immortals Lord from Shizhu Mountain in Fuzhou, China, descends to the Wuwei Ling Temple in Qinbi Village to provide guidance through dreams for the faithful. This opportunity only occurs once a year.

The temple committee reminds those interested in seeking miraculous guidance to adhere to the following guidelines to ensure the effectiveness of the divine intervention:

1. Fast for at least one day.

2. Provide the name, date of birth, and wishes of the individual seeking divine guidance.

3. For business-related matters, provide detailed information about the business, its location, and operations.

4. For examinations, specify the type of exam, and for promotions or further education, provide detailed information.

5. For those seeking marriage, provide the dates of birth of both parties.

6. For those seeking offspring, provide details such as residence, years of marriage, and the age of the partner.

7. Requests should be made silently to avoid disturbing others.

8. After consulting the deity, immediately sit or lie down quietly without engaging in loud conversation.

9. Maintain a calm and focused mindset.

10.   If there are multiple matters to inquire about, do so separately, addressing one issue at a time.

Reflecting on her experience, Ms. Cao, a native of Beigan who moved to Taiwan in 2016, shared that she represented over 30 Taiwanese friends and family members to seek guidance through dreams. She successfully obtained answers to questions regarding career, offspring, and relationships, thanks to her acute intuition.

Chairman Wang Lideng of the Lung Chiao Feng Wuwei Ling Temple expressed that the dream seeking ritual, originating from their ancestral home in Fujian, has proven to be highly effective. Initially held at the ancestral temple of the Chen family in Qinbi Village in the 1950s, the tradition eventually transitioned to the Lung Chiao Feng Wuwei Ling Temple and gained wider recognition. He hopes that with the joint efforts of the government and the community, this culturally rich event can continue to thrive and be passed down to future generations.
