Matsu's four townships and five islands not only possess rich military history, unique Mindong architecture and religious beliefs, but also breathtaking marine erosion landscapes and natural ecological resources. To showcase Matsu's beauty with "INSPIRED by MATSU" tourism features, the Matsu National Scenic Area Headquarters of the Tourism Administration, MOTC (hereinafter referred to as Matsu Headquarters) has planned the "2025 Matsu Marine Tourism" series of activities, partnering with local tourism operators to create exciting marine tourism itineraries, inviting visitors to explore the island scenery in depth.

On June 4th, the Matsu Headquarters held a promotional press conference at the Travel Service Center of Tourism Administration, officially unveiling the annual tourism highlights. The "2025 Matsu Marine Tourism" series includes themes such as "Sea View of Juguang," "Sea View of Dongyin," and "Beigan Mabi Bay Holiday Market Concert," integrating maritime perspectives with island culture, showcasing distinctly different Matsu charm through rich tourism resources, local specialties, and surrounding tourism industries, enabling travelers to rediscover Matsu in a brand new way. At the event, numerous distinguished guests gathered together, jointly pushing the launch lever, symbolizing the official start of marine tourism activities.

From June to July, "Sea View of Juguang" opens the series of activities. The Matsu archipelago waters have been designated as a "Tern Refuge," hosting over 30 bird species, with the most eye-catching being the Chinese crested tern (a.k.a. the "Mythical Bird"), whose appearance has caused sensations in the international bird-watching community. Through island-circling flights, visitors not only have the opportunity to observe various rare birds up close and admire their soaring beauty against the blue sea and sky, but also have the chance to witness the world-famous square waves and magnificent reefs scattered throughout the waters, making it absolutely the best way to explore Juguang.

Dongyin is located at the northeastern end of the Matsu archipelago, known as the northern frontier of the nation, and famous for its important military position and marine erosion landscapes. From July to September, "Sea View of Dongyin" departs from the vast Dongyin waters, circling around Dongyin and Xiyin islands, where visitors can easily spot spectacular rock formations and terns soaring against the sea and sky, leading them to see this maritime fortress from a completely new perspective. The entire activity features professional tour guides providing simultaneous commentary, introducing in-depth the geological structure, strategic position, and rich ecological resources of Dongyin, allowing visitors not only to enjoy spectacular scenery but also to deeply experience Dongyin's cultural heritage and natural charm.

The Matsu Headquarters also partners with Lienchiang County’s Traffic and Tourism Bureau and Beigan Township Office to hold family-friendly market concerts at Mabi Bay, inviting renowned singers and performance groups to take turns performing and interacting with audiences, while surrounding areas feature Matsu specialty foods and prize-winning challenge activities. To echo the Tourism Administration's Taiwan Solar Festival "Let’s Chill" theme, the event site will provide limited free tastings of aged wine slush, allowing travelers to spend an unforgettable hot summer accompanied by beautiful scenery, delicious food, and music. Additionally, Beigan Township Office has planned "Beigan Ocean Festival" offering a series of experiential activities, including stand-up paddleboarding "Tour Beigan & SUP," the traditional fishing village culture revival "Seine Carnival," and the "Mabi Bay Holiday Market" held every Friday and Saturday starting June 20th, making it absolutely the best destination for Matsu summer afternoons.

Facing rapid changes in tourism patterns, Matsu's slow pace, marine scenery, and marine erosion landscapes perfectly respond to current travelers' demands for sustainable, local, and in-depth tourism. The Matsu Headquarters, with the theme "Beauty of Matsu • INSPIRED by MATSU," plans marine tourism series activities, creating a new tourism model that is exciting day and night, suitable for all seasons, inviting everyone to explore Matsu's beauty from different perspectives and feel the profound charm of each island.
