When the weather is fine you can see many butterflies flying quickly by, taking advocate of the air currents, around Zhonggui Harbor. A large number of butterflies can also often be seen along the trail that leads to Dongyin Lighthouse, and on the grassy area. The area between Suicide Cliff and Taibai Echo Cave is the only area in the Matsu Islands with a colony of Tongeia filicaudis mushanus (Tanikawa) butterflies. These appear between spring and autumn.

Transportion
1. Take the Taiwan Star from Keelung’s West Wharf No. 2 to Matsu’s Dongyin Township. The triptakes approximately 10 hours.
2. Take Uni Air Flight、Mandarin Airlines to Matsu Airport, then travel by taxi to Fu-ao Wharf totake the Taima Star to Dongyin.
3. Zhongzhu Harbor dock has waiting taxis so they are easy to find. You can also ask about hiring a scooter at your hotel.

1. Uninhabited islands near Juguang include Sheshan and Yongliu Island. In the past these were used for target practice by the ROC military but, after the end of military rule, they have gradually returned to nature. Undisturbed by man and with a plentiful supply of fish due to the island's location near the mouth of the Min River, the islands have become a perfect place for sea birds to feed and breed.Sheshan has been declared a tern reserve. Resident birds can also be regularly spotted around Dapu and Fuzheng settlements in the Juguang area.Juguang people joke that there fridge is the seashore. Their “fridge” is the tidal belt on Yongliu Island.
2. When the tide is out many "special product" local seafoods can be found, leading it to be called Juguang’s seafood farm. In addition, recent year efforts to restore lilies and other native plants have had some success. In March when the callery pears bloom and in May when the lilies bloom the islands are painted white, creating a lovely scene.
Transportion
1. Take the Taiwan Star from Dongyin’s Zhongzhu Harbor to Nangan (approximately two hours). Afterarriving at the wharf in Nangan, you can choose to continue to Juguang Township.

1. Food and lodging can be found in Xiju's Qingfan Village and Tianao Village, and Dongju's Daping Village.
2. Juguang may be reached by small ferry service. The journey takes about 50 minutes.
Day 3 Fuao Harbor → Aokou, Renai Village → Shengtian Park → Siwei Village→ Siwei Fisheries Research Institute

Nangan and Beigan are good places to porpoise watch in winter. The best place to watch on Nangan is Jinren Trail between Jinsha settlement and Renai Village. On the way the trail passes through Shengtian native plant botanical garden. Here you can view some of Matsu’s native plants and also bird watch. Drive ten minutes towards the northern tip of Nangan and you can view fish specimens in Siwei Village’s Fisheries Research Institute.
