War and Peace Memorial Park Exhibition Center

Nearly half a century of moving memories A must-visit site for military enthusiasts

The War and Peace Memorial Park Exhibition Center (abbreviated as War and Peace Center) is located in Beigan Township, Lienchiang County. It was planned and constructed by the Matsu National Scenic Area Administration and opened in 2010, continuing to serve visitors in roles such as national defense education and tourism recreation. After a year-long renovation, a reopening ceremony was held at 10 AM on February 28, 2024. Local dignitaries and stationed agencies in Matsu were invited to participate. The reopening date of February 28 symbolizes the path towards peace. Visitors are encouraged to come and experience the civilian atmosphere of that time.

The theme "Sleeping on Spears, Awaiting the Dawn" incorporates the lives of people under military administration into the exhibition, recreating Matsu's overnight transformation from a fishing village to a battlefield. Through historical artifacts, it unveils the veil of military administration. With improved software and hardware, the Center tells stories from different perspectives. New and old friends are welcome to visit.

How to get to the War and Peace Memorial Park Exhibition Center:

Follow the Tanghoudao Beach next to Beigan Airport, pass through a tunnel, and continue towards Houao Village. Be cautious of a steep slope after passing the village; remember to slow down and ride carefully. After climbing the hill, follow the signs to enter the War and Peace Center park area.
