Dapu Village is in Dongju Island’s south, and in winter it keeps itself away from northeastern monsoons. Fuzheng Village on the other hand is ideal for living in the summer, when winds blow from the southwest. Thus, Dongju residents liked to move between the two places in early days, and they made a living on fishing.

Fuzheng was once Dongju’s most prosperous village. Yet as fish became few in the sea, both civilians and soldiers moved out. Fuzheng was no longer busy; only deserted stone houses and the lonesome Dongquan Lighthouse were left. Today, Baima Zunwang Temple still quietly protects the village, which is inhabited by just about 10 families. In this way, Fuzheng exudes quiet, unsophisticated charm.
