Soon after Matsu was no longer a military base, Matsu National Scenic Area Administration was unveiled on November 26, 1999 to plan, construct, operate, and manage the scenic area in Matsu.
Upon arriving at Nangan Visitor Center, you shall find flying tern statues on a meadow by the side. The center building looks like a traditional Mindong stone house, and in the well-equipped center there are short videos to watch, travel inquiries to make, and tourist flyers to take. There is a souvenir shop, too. These make the center perfect for taking a rest if you are traveling in Nangan!
