From Nangan Visitor Center, take its hiking path which leads to Dahan Stronghold on the southern Tieban coastline. The stronghold was fairly important strategically in war time. As Nangan became more peaceful, the army handed over the stronghold to Matsu National Scenic Area Administration, who later on turned it into a tourist destination. In 2006, refurbishment work was complete. The stronghold features plenty of small holes for guns and cannons to pop out and kill enemies on the sea. Again, it can be reached via the hiking trail beside Nangan Visitor Center. On a sunny day, one can enjoy views of Juguang Island from the stronghold.
